As Far as The East is From the West

“…our Lord Jesus Christ who will also confirm you to the end, that you may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

1 Corinthians 1: 8

By His death on the cross, Jesus has taken the punishment due to us for our sin, so that on the Day of the Lord, when Jesus Christ will return to the earth to judge humanity, we will be held blameless.

As stated in Psalm 103, verse 11: “As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.”

We are therefore confident that God we preserve us until the day of the appearing of the Lord Jesus Christ. In the first chapter of Philippians , verse six, Paul writes: “being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ…”

Our spiritual life is completely dependent on the power of Jesus Christ that is gifted to us via the Holy Spirit. By depending on our own strength, we will never be able to conform our lives to the requirements of the Lord and to be pleasing to Him.

It is Jesus Christ who aids us in this important endeavour and gives us the strength we need to follow Him.
